Standard lipid management focuses on hepatic cholesterol synthesis (statins) or bile acid sequestration. LipoSupport IgY targets a third pathway: intestinal lipid absorption — intercepting fat and cholesterol at the gut wall before they enter systemic circulation.
IgY antibodies delivered orally survive gastric transit in their active form, reaching the small intestine where pancreatic lipase and NPC1L1 transporters are active. By occupying these targets with passive mucosal immunity, LipoSupport reduces the absorbed fraction of dietary lipids without systemic drug effects or hepatic load.
Ezetimibe also targets NPC1L1 but systemically. IgY acts entirely within the gut lumen — no hepatic first pass, no drug interactions, making it suitable as a standalone or adjunct approach alongside statins.
Meta-analyses (Ras et al., 2014) show plant sterol esters at 2 g/day reduce LDL-C by 8–10% on average. Combined with lipase and transporter inhibition, total intestinal lipid load is substantially reduced.
